Helen Eisen Designs is an independent slow fashion brand based in Berlin. The main focus lies in the combination of artistic design, sustainability, and innovative materials and craftsmanship. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted by Helen Eisen in her Berlin atelier, using primarily deadstock fabrics and upcycled materials. Local production minimizes transport emissions and ensures fair, ethical working conditions. The collections are offered in limited editions and unique one-of-a-kind pieces. By avoiding overproduction and waste, Helen Eisen Designs actively promotes a more responsible approach to fashion.

About the designer.

Helen Eisen (b. 1998) is a Berlin-based fashion designer and founder of Helen Eisen Designs.

She studied Fashion Design at AMD Akademie Mode & Design Berlin and completed her Master’s degree at Kunsthochschule Weißensee in 2024, specializing in innovative and sustainable material research. During her studies, she gained experience working with Viktor&Rolf, as well as in the couture ateliers of Dawid Tomaszewski and Marina Hoermanseder.

Her Bachelor’s and Master’s collections were presented at Berlin Fashion Week in 2022 and 2024. Following her graduation, her work was shown in exhibitions including the Berliner Salon at the Gemäldegalerie Berlin and German Design Graduates – Dare to Design: Spaces of Care at MAKK Köln.

Her work has been featured in publications such as 1Granary, Sicky Magazine, Schön! Magazine, and TextilWirtschaft, and has received several awards, including the Mart Stam Prize (2024), the Wilhelm Lorch Foundation Scholarship (2023), and the AMD Stage Award & Best Graduate (2022). She was also nominated for the German Newcomer Design Award.

In 2024, she founded her label Helen Eisen Designs, where she creates handcrafted couture pieces in her Berlin atelier, working primarily with deadstock and recycled materials. Her practice combines material experimentation with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in designs that explore identity, emotion, and societal structures.

Alongside her artistic work, she teaches workshops in design and material exploration. In 2026, she will continue her research as part of the postgraduate Meister*innenstudium at Kunsthochschule Weißensee.
